The 20th annual FAMILY-FRIENDLY event will be one to remember, with fun and exciting DEMONSTRATIONS, EXHIBITIONS, PERFORMANCES and more. Terp Town Center
The heart of campus—McKeldin Mall, the Stamp Student Union and the surrounding area—becomes the ACTION-PACKED Terp Town Center. Learn about our schools and colleges, catch a LIVE PERFORMANCE at the Main Stage, grab a bite to eat and snap a selfie with the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Join a WALKING TOUR to explore UMD’s African-American history or test your problem-solving skills in an ESCAPE ROOM at the new Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center. Take in a FASHION SHOW spotlighting the latest in Terp trends.
Ag Day Avenue
Our world-class public research institution got its start more than 150 years ago as the Maryland Agricultural College. At Ag Day Avenue, see what its faculty and students are doing today to IMPROVE NUTRITION, CONSERVE AND PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT, and develop new methods of SUSTAINABLE FARMING. Summon your courage to touch a tarantula at the INSECT PETTING ZOO, watch beekeepers in action and find out what important life skills young people can learn in 4-H.
Art & Design Place
Get creative at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center to learn the SECRETS OF BUCKET DRUMMING, create your own WACKY MUSICAL INSTRUMENT and listen to gorgeous MUSICAL PERFORMANCES. You can BUILD A BOX CITY in the Architecture Building, see student artwork at the Parren J. Mitchell Art-Sociology Building and ENJOY CRAFTS at Tawes Plaza. Biz & Society Hill
Have an idea for the next great app or business? PITCH YOUR FEARLESS IDEA and get feedback from the experts on Biz & Society Hill. Learn what it takes to be successful in college, and EXPLORE how BUSINESS, PUBLIC POLICY and the SOCIAL SCIENCES shape all aspects of modern life.
Sports & Rec Row
Have you ever wanted to fly through the air like a gymnast, interact with a robot or try stand-up paddleboarding? If so, Sports & Rec Row is a must on your Maryland Day list! Take a tour of a residence hall, work up a sweat in a FITNESS CLASS or join the PARTY ON LA PLATA BEACH. From adventure-themed activities to HEALTH SCREENINGS, all is “well” here.
Science & Tech Way
Science—whether physics, biology, engineering or chemistry—is for everyone. Learn how to CODE GAMES, discover the ins and outs of LASER TECHNOLOGY and EXTREME ROBOTICS, and find out how students are designing and building high-performance RACE CARS. Explore the inner workings of your brain, the farthest reaches of outer space, the possibilities of AUGMENTED REALITY and the power of extreme weather.

Directions & Parking
Parking is free.
Follow directional signs and traffic attendants to event parking areas. Upon arrival, pick up an event guide/map at one of our information stations (see map).
Please do not park in fire lanes.
Disabled parking areas are reserved for vehicles displaying state-issued disabled permits.
Please call 877.UMTERPS if special accommodations are required.
You can cover more ground if you use Shuttle-UM, which will run continuously all day free of charge. Click here to see our map and bus stop locations.

Bring Your Bike
Once you get to Maryland Day, look for one of our bicycle valet tents near Terp Town Center, Ag Day Avenue and Art & Design Place. The UMD Department of Transportation Services will provide free and safe bicycle parking all day on Maryland Day as well as cycling giveaways, cycling maps and information.
